Intelligent Washing System
Once the start button is pressed, sensors detect the load and the selected water temperature to optimise water level and cycle time according to the size and type of load.
Load Sensing
Detects how much laundry is loaded to optimise wash time, rinse time and water consumption providing efficient use of water and energy.
Baby Care
This special program heats the water up to 95° providing a more hygienic wash for your children's clothes.
Quick 30
Laundry that needs to be washed frequently such as sportswear or T-shirts might get damaged by frequent normal washing. The "Quick 30" cycle can be selected for these items that are only lightly soiled or only perspired in where the wash cycle completes in just 30 minutes.

addendum on direct drive
Review by ChrisIn fairness to this product, I didn't realise that this is "direct drive", which is an upgrade in quality to the intellowasher that I wrote about above. I DO NOT OWN THIS MODEL. The old models were driven by a gearbox which is now superseded by direct drive models. Harvey Norman has a display that demonstrates the difference between how these technologies operate. Direct drive is more durable, so I have been convinced by that to give LG another go because I was very happy with its operations.

Great functionality. Durability questionable.
Review by ChrisWe bought an LG Intellowasher seven years ago with money given to us as a wedding gift (I think we spent $800). It performed very well, so easy to use that my four year old son was able to work it. The spin cycle was a bit noisy but otherwise quiet operation. However, it died two weeks ago. The bearings that support the drum wore out. I was outside and heard what I thought was a loud truck idling out the front of the house. It was the washing machine which was filled with smoke. To fix it will cost $420 plus $120 call out fee. Not worth it. The service guy said that he's seen about 500 LG's wear out in the bearings, whereas he's only seen it happen to a handful of Samsungs. He said it's common with entry level washing machines generally. So while an eight year warranty on a motor may be a beautiful thing, it doesn't help much if it can't spin the drum...
