microsoft all-in-one media keyboard is rated 1.7121 out of 5 by 132.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from No F-Lock I bought this keyboard a couple of days ago to use with Visual Studio within a virtual machine. Since there is no F-Lock on this keyboard, I cannot use it efficiently as I need the functions keys F1-F12. I could at least switch the default behavior on my Surface Pro with Fn + Caps Lock, but that does not work on this keyboard. Other than this problem the keyboard types fairly well and the trackpad gets the job done. This is really a media keyboard for use with HTPCs and for that purpose, it does a good job, but for any sort of development/office work I would not recommend this keyboard (for that I use my Natural 4000 keyboard which is awesome!).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute Garbage - I feel cheated. Just received this from an online order, and I can't believe it is actually being sold. That's how bad it is. The trackpad is infuriating to use for two reasons. 1) You have to move almost a 1/2 inch before it responds on the screen, at which point i jumps to the spot. Makes positioning almost impossible. 2) The trackpad buttons register movement, so if you rest your thumb on them, the trackpad is constantly trying to pinch zoom when you move your finger. The hassle of shipping this back to get a refund isn't even worth it. I just went from a devoted MS fan to sitting here in disbelief that something so poorly made could be released. Microsoft -- can you fix this in the drivers?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sadly disappointing The Keyboard is excellent quality, a pleasure to type on. The rest sadly is very disappointing. The touchpad doesn't respond to the first quarter inch of movement, so fine accuracy is difficult. The touchpad also tilts for right and left click (someone trying to be clever) which makes the mouse pointer jump across the screen. The software to adjust the settings is difficult to find and almost completely useless. So I decided to give the Logitech K400 plus a go instead, Everything on that is much better, except the keyboard is of poor quality, very clunky. Cant win unfortunately.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average Keys have a nice travel to them, also with firmware update fn keys can work normally as f5=refresh. Compact and friendly form factor, no fingerprints left on keys or touchpad (mate finish). what i dont like about it: for a product inteded to be on your hands, in the living room or in your lap, it has some hard edges from the plastic lines. this manifest a lot if you are using it with your thumbs as intended, and on your palm the side of it... also plastics are not so great to touch. trackpad is average laptop affair. extra keys above the touchpad are really welcome. Special fn keys work great with Windows 10 would love to change the volume keys to pgup/dn, or something like that. also better plastics would be welcome.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy this product The function keys are taken over by media functions. They are useful but unfortunately they are enabled by default. You use the actual function keys you must hold down the Fn key. It is very annoying. To add insult to injury, the "F4" key will put the computer to sleep. I use Alt+F4 all the time but with this keyboard instead of closing the current window it puts the computer to sleep. Unlike other keyboards with similar features, this keyboard do not have a Fn lock key to by pass this behavior. Any one who uses F1-F12 regularly will not what this keyboard.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No Fn Lock By default the F1 to F12 keys are locked as in as media 'smart' keys. You have to hold the Fn key in order to use the keys as they would normally be, hit Alt F4 to close a program and instead your computer goes to SLEEP! Its very annoying! No software from Microsoft to fix this problem despite numerous complaints from other reviewers. Other than that you pretty much get what you pay for with this keyboard, decent looking design saves quite a bit of space in your work area. The build quality feels cheap, poor quality plastics used, keyboard has a lot of flex to it,the touch pad feels alright, but nothing special. The lack of a Function lock hurts this product the most. Surprised Microsoft would put its name this I expected more.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This is the biggest annoyance ever I just purchased a Microsoft All-in-one Media Keyboard yesterday and it appears that the media keys (the ones on the Function Keys - F1-F12) are active by default. For example, the media key on F5 is the Windows search function. Whenever I press F5, it pops up the Windows Search Index instead of simply being F5. In order for me to achieve the default functionality for the Function Keys, I need to hold the FN function. Usually, it's the opposite. I would like to have the default functionality on my Function Keys and press the FN key whenever I want to use the Media Functionality, not the other way around. it appears that the Media-all-in-One Keyboard is designed in such a way that the media keys are active by default. This is the factory setup!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing I bought this keyboard over the weekend but clearly didn't research carefully enough. Although it is a media keyboard, it is lacking some basic functionality that is standard on keyboards and very useful when typing more than a few words such as the end, home, insert and print screen buttons. Furthermore, you cannot lock the FN key so are stuck with holding it to access the F keys. If you need them regularly it is annoying. I have installed the Microsoft mouse and keyboard software and can confirm these options are not customisable.
