Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great portable gadget! My parents are hooked on streaming videos and foreign TV channels on my Surface 2, but I couldn't figure out a way to wirelessly mirror the images on to the TV until I found out about this Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter. The cost initially deterred me from buying, but I'm glad I decided to purchase one. It has made viewing so much better. Installation was easy - I just plugged it in to my TV, connected my Surface 2 to it, then started using it. There is also an app for the product, but I haven't used it as yet. It is light and portable so I can take it with me anywhere. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase thus far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Perfectly Was getting annoyed at terrible, slow & crashing Smart TV apps on our living room TV. Brought this so we could use our windows phones to watch video apps on our TV. Worked perfectly. Didn't need any set up as our phones have project screen built in, displayed our phone screen on the TV. Also use it on the bedroom TV which isn't smart, so now we have a smart tv in the bedroom. No lag at all, no difference in performance in bedroom & living room. Only thing to worry about is when I take it out to swap it between TVs if its just been on the metal part of the HDMI is hot so be careful.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Frustratingly awkward Have got this to connect my laptop to my TV, but it has to be quite close, a few feet, and does not seem to transmit sound, so no real advantage over an HDMI cable. Also it disconnects as soon as I turn off the PC and I can't make it reconnect without removing it in settings and re-adding the device - tedious. Microsoft says you can type the command "connect>device name" but I cannot find anywhere in Windows 10 that recognises that command. Only good feature is in the App which allows you to re-size the screen to recover the edges which on my TV are partially hidden.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from absolutely amazing Just bought this in the hope of wirelessly connecting an newly installed projector in our village hall. First I connected a Windows 10 Laptop and then my Windows Phone Lumia 830. This is something you should be shouting about Microsoft ! I found it by accident searching for solutions for this need. I am totally amazed at how well the adapter displays a perfect mirror of both displays. Video and sound is managed with no glitches. This has created a new world of opportunity and ease of presentation. Just using it now with a basic non-smart tv. Brilliant.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! I'm a teacher and have a TV mounted on a wall in my classroom. I've been using Surface for a while now as well as a small Linx windows 8 tablet. This adapter means I can now really easily cast my tablet screen to the large TV for students to see. Best part though is not having to worry about whether I can get through the IT technician's network security / have my devices MAC addresses added to their 'allowed' list, because there is no need for it to make the connection. Fast and responsive, works every time. So glad I bought this, pricey though it is.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Microsoft Software This would have been a great idea, however I have not been able to use it as I can't download the app from the Windows store. I would have preferred to have been able to download the software from a normal website or have it supplied with this adapter. I don't usually use the Microsoft store, and this experience has not given me any reason to start. I have spent several hours trying to get this to work without any success, so this adapter goes unused. Such a waste of money for something that could have been a straightforward reliable process.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Picture Quality I bought this a few months ago and what a waste of money. The picture quality is rubbish, nowhere near good enough to watch movies on, and the support staff at Microsoft have no answers as to why. More than that, they are patronising with their responses and have no intention of actually trying to solve problems. Have a read of this thread....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost excellent The is a great piece of kit which works well with my phone (950xl) but oddly it struggles to connect with my brand new Surface Book. The phone always connects first time but video can be a little stuttery with occasional interference. Still really clever though. From my Surface Book however, it often takes several attempts to connect and then sometimes it will randomly disconnect. I have used with my tv and with a range of projectors. With projectors it can be really annoying. It seems to be the resolution which it struggles with.
