Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased For the last year I have been considering the D7000 because I outgrew my D3100 quite fast. Fast forward to a few months ago when I learned about the release of the 7100. I poured over the reviews that came out and compared it to the 7000 on a weekly basis. The question became whether to buy the 7000 at a nicely discounted price or pay for the 7100. I went with the 7100 and so far it is pretty amazing. I have been toying with a lot of the features. The dual SD slots are a nice improvement over the 7000 and the personalization this camera offers is very nice. I can't wait to really put this camera through its paces this Fall in Europe.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent beginner's lens. The lens was being used on a Nikon D80. I bought this to serve as an all around events gatherings, outdoor adventures, auction photos. The motor is a little noisy when focusing, and sometimes the VR jitters, but ultimately catches the focal point. I liked using a reverse mount macro lens ring with this lens. The lens was light-weight, fast, and the results were pretty clear. I sold it when I upgraded to the Nikon D800E, since I didn't want DX format photos anymore. My next purchase will be a Nikon VR II...probably the 70-200. I'm trying not to be a lens hoarder, so I'll only purchase one or two premium multi-task lenses from this point on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing photographs at a wonderful price! I purchased this camera as an upgrade to my Nikon D3300. I had originally purchased the D3300 with the thought that "hey, this is probably all I'll ever need". Well, to put it bluntly, I was wrong. Using the D3300 I started up a little photo business of my own, and things took off! I quickly realized that I'd need something better.. but something that was truly affordable! The D7100 has met and surpassed all the needs that I, and my customers, had. I have to say I am very impressed by the level of detail this camera can achieve. I am SO happy with this purchase and feel that THIS is the camera that I can hold on to for a while!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The D 7100 is worth the upgrade I am a canon user and currently own the 600 D. After 2 years, I thought it was time to move to the next level since I shoot a lot of actions and marriage. good lord ! the transition was smooth. it tooks time to get used to the customizable menu and buttons. You basically get what you pay for. The 51 focal points intuitively reactive, good ISO's up into the 800-6400 range much better than the D 600. There is a significant difference in term picture quality, high burst rate with 7 fps. I would recommend that camera to anyone who is looking for taking actions (sports & kids). My only complain is you cannot control the F - stop in shutter speed mode. Good job nikon

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The D7100 and Real Estate Photography As a professional photographer, I bought the D7100 and MB-D15 battery pack to use in the real estate end of my business. With the wide angle lens I use I find the DX format is perfect for this particular need. The images are crystal clear and the 24mp's gives me the ability to print almost any sized image. While I use the D4 (FX) for the balance of my needs, the D7100 has many features that I use regularly and I would certainley recomends this camera body to both pros and non-pros. The only drawback and this is not a complaint is that the Raw Files generated are between 25 and 30mg's. In short, this is a great, inexpensive camera body. Thanx Nikon............bsa

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good starter lens Good starter lens (hence the reason it comes with most entry-level/enthusiast DSLRs from Nikon). Good for general photography (ie. daily use like family events or anything else you'd normally use a point-and-shoot for). I would recommend to enthusiasts or serious hobby photographers to get some primes as well (perhaps a nice 50mm prime lens). I consider this just an average lens, good at general stuff, but not very good if you want to landscapes, portraits or anything in a particular area. Decent walk-around lens or beginner lens (you can get some great photos out of this lens, but usually that takes some skill and depends on the body it's attached to to an extent).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best camera I ever owned I'm new to photography. The Nikon d7100 has tons of features to make my photos come out great. I used it write out of the box with the 18-105mm VR Lens kit to take portrait photos indoor and outside that turned out great. I also used it at a few soccer games and tried the suggestion provided on the Nikon web page and manual utilizing some of the auto settings in the camera. I posted them on Facebook and was complimented on the great action shots. I will continue to read the manual trying everything in it. I'm hoping to take a Nikon class on how to use the d7100 to its full capacity. By far the best camera I ever owned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the Best! I think I have died and gone to heaven - but then I upgraded from a D50 (10 years?) I managed to get by all this time with 6Mp by soon upgrading to the 18-200mm lens which allowed me to do all my cropping at picture-taking time. The autofocus on the D7100 is superb (marginal on the D50). With the 18-200 it is quite a handful (heavy) but well worth it. I highly recommend the 18-200. Get a Nikon UV filter (NC) on any Nikon lens you have. I have to get the SB-910 next (daughter's wedding coming up!) Went with the 64GB (Sandisk only!) Extreme Pro 95MB/s just to be on the safe side (really only need for video, I suppose).
