sony cybershot hx90v digital camera is rated 4.456375838926174 out of 5 by 149.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could be better Bought this a couple of months ago to replace an HX50. Having a viewfinder is great though having to 'erect' it every time is a pain and also makes it vulnerable. The camera is a bit smaller than the previous one, perhaps a bit too small. It also doesn't seem to focus well with some subjects / light conditions. The GPS is nigh on useless, it takes too long to get a fix. One improvement over the HX50 is the ability to disable the movie button which is still badly positioned. It is also much more cumbersome to use - having to launch 'apps' to do things like control from your phone. It was so simple and much quicker with the previous camera.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good features - but queries remain Compared to my previous Cybershot camera, I was disappointed to find that capture of a still picture during video taking is not possible. Use of the sunk button to initiate video taking is perhaps easier than before, but a hard press produces an unstable picture (although the recording is OK). Video can be initiated when camera is set to the taking of still photos, eg P setting etc. When video is taken with camera on the "video" setting, I am often getting over-exposed film. I have yet to work out how to avoid these issues. Viewfinder is nice to have, although the screen seems rather subdued. Quality of still pictures and most video is excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all round little number Having already been an owner of the DSC-HX9V, I dropped hint after hint to my family, to get me the 90v. Christmas past they came up with the goods. the best way to write this review, is just to say all the features that this camera has, are top notch. the only down side to the camera is I cant delete multiple files from my memory card as I was able to do with the 9v, this means I would have to format the card when i wished to delete files, just a little erk. I am adding the first video I took with the 90v as a demo of it's awesome zoom and clarity.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from HX90V - Something's not quite right ! I purchased my HX90V in September 2015, Overall a nice piece of kit, really great images, struggles in low light an macro focus on the poor side. Designe: The on /off switch on the top would be better as a slide switch rather than a tiny little button that is flush with the top of the camera. The function knob on the top would benifit from a "Lock" button in the centre as on the A77m2. The camera has 3 ways you can turn it on and 2 ways you can turn it off ... don't understand WHY ? By October 2015 I realised that there was yet another way this camera can be turned on and off, it will do it all by itself without warning.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost as good as my Sony RX100 This camera is like the baby brother of the RX100 and gives very similar excellent results. The tilt-screen and built-in view finder are useful features. Three improvements for future models would be:- 1) the ability to switch off the flash in Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority and Program Auto because it keeps saying "Pop up the built-in flash to fire" which hides part of the screen view - very annoying 2) to stop the "shake" symbol being shown even when the shutter speed is, say, one hundredth of a second - also very annoying 3) to show the number of shots remaining on the SD card each time the camera is switched on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic little camera packed with features! I bought this just before Christmas to take on holiday to Australia. I wanted something small with plenty of features and this one ticked all the boxes. Add to it the leather case made by Sony and a small Manfrotto tripod and I had the perfect camera combo.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super zoom in your pocket When I'm out on my bike, I will not always have my Sony a7s and 70-200mm lens on me... For obvious reasons. But this little Dynamo is always on hand when I'm riding down at the beach, out in the bush or wherever to capture a shot of whales, kangaroos, birds etc. and with the evf I don't have to worry about spotting my subject in bright sunlight. The selfie style monitor has also come in handy for those selfie shots with the Kangaroos down on Lucky Bay. Brilliant! Yes the controls are small, but to get the features on such a compact camera, of course they will be small.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Point and shoot camera I bought this camera to replace an older Sony Cybershot and I have to say I haven't been disappointed. I am not serious photographer but enjoy capturing those unexpected moments you just want to capture on camera. The features are great, it has a good zoom and the video footage is good. My priority for purchasing this product was the ability to carry it anywhere it's wifi features and the zoom. I did consider the Sony Rx100 that a more professional photographer may consider as a point and shoot camera but was put of by the price of the Mark iV and it's limited zoom.
