Gourmet Institute “Essential Chocolate” with Christine Manfield

It was a night of decadence, indulgence and guilty pleasure at The Gourmet Institute “Essential Chocolate” event thanks to Australian Gourmet Traveller and Harvey Norman. I was whisked away by chocolate chef and connoisseur Christine Manfield for an experience that could only be described as DELICIOUS!


Think “VIP”, think “fashionable”, think “exclusive” – these are three words that came to mind when I arrived at The Gourmet Institute “Essential Chocolate” event. Greeted by representatives from Australian Gourmet Traveller, I was ushered onto the red carpet to mingle with other guests.




While some took their seat and rummaged through their goody bags…






…others took the opportunity to browse products in-store and even make some purchases (I had my eye on the pastel yellow Kenwood Patissier food mixer!).




With a glass of sparkling water in one hand and a tasty canapé in the other, I took my seat and prepared for the choc invasion. If the scent of chocolate and caramel was anything to go by, I knew I would be in for a real treat – BRING IT ON!







“Chocolatier extraordinaire” Christine Manfield at work making miniature Dulcey blonde chocolate (white chocolate with a slight caramel flavour) mousse waffle cones with dark chocolate pearls.






 These super-cute cones were my fave of the night – never in my life have I tried white chocolate as delectable as that!







Mouth-watering salted caramel chocolate tarts, plus…







…fluffy, light and fudgey flourless chocolate cake.
