Back to School Recipe: No-Nut Butter

Start the day with a proper breakfast and replace sugary spreads on your toast with this delicious and nutritious no-nut butter from Vitamix. Perfect for allergy sufferers and strict school food guidelines, where nut butter is off the menu, this amazing alternative is great any time of the day.

Makes: 360 mls
Total Time: 5 minutes


• 160 g (1¼ cups) unsalted, roasted sunflower seeds
• 35 g (¼ cup) flaxseed
• 2 Tablespoons (15 g) sesame seeds
• 60 ml (¼ cup) sunflower oil
• 1 Tablespoon honey
• ¼ teaspoon salt

1. Place all ingredients into the Vitamix container in the order listed and secure lid.

2. Select Variable 1.

3. Turn machine on and slowly increase speed to Variable 10, then to High.

4. Blend for 1 minute 15 seconds, using the tamper to press the ingredients into the blades.

Cook’s note: This recipe has been written for the C-Series machines with Variable Speed control and Standard 2.0-litre container. If you are using a different Vitamix machine or container size, you may need to make adjustments to the Variable Speed, processing time, and/or ingredient quantities.
