Rated 5 out of 5 by Kev2 from Strong Performer for a Soundbar. No Need for Rear Spekers. Clear, clean sound with excellent spatial sound dispersion and substantial bass response with appropriate source material such as Dolby sound movie tracks. I also purchased the optional 9000S rear surround speakers which I returned as, for me, they detracted from the sound bar's clarity, bass response and spatial distribution of sound. While independently powered the rear speakers are inferior to the sound bar speakers. I found the blending of the two systems muddied the sound bars clarity and base response. And while the spatial sound distribution with rear speakers is enhanced, the sound bar alone does an excellent job of sound dispersion.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Gary59 from Great features & sound, average Samsung support I have both this soundbar & the sony ht-ct800 & for me out of the box the Samsung sounds superior. All functions worked as promised, however having the Samsung website offering new firmware update to be installed via usb installas we all know the hwms650 does not even have a usb port,is well, ridiculous. After complaining to Samsung tech support it was suggested to me that you can upgrade the firmware if you download the samsung wireless home app & then install the firmware via the app. It worked! Other than the Samsung support page showing incorect update procedure which caused consideable wasted time & effort I have nothing but praise for my latest purchase.

The new Sound+ sound bar does offer impressive quality of sound, unfortunately the attempt at removing the sub-woofer failed. If your purpose of the sound bar is for listening to music, this will suffice, but if you are looking for an all-round sound system to enhance your TV and movie viewing experience, select something with a dedicated sub. I had to replace my HW-J650 sound bar due to a failed warranty issue, and I miss my J650. I do not get that rumbling feeling with the new MS650 like i did with my older J650. I choose the MS650 because of the similar multi-room functions of the J650, and anticipating compatibility with my Samsung TV. I have a 2013 Samsung Smart TV, and it doesn't recognize the MS650 being plugged in even after the latest update like it did with my J650. The comparability issues are related to ARC function. I still get sound; the TV just doesn't acknowledge that it has a sound bar plugged in. When using the ARC to activate the sound bar when the TV is turned on, it doesn't ways work. I cannot replicate the issue on demand so I cannot pinpoint the exact issue. In short, - The MS650 has quality sound, but lacks the bass of a traditional sub-woofer. - ARC Compatibility issues with older Samsung Smart TVs

Rated 4 out of 5 by BrisbaneReviewer from Great value - but we have bluetooth issues This Samsung soundbar has been fantastic value - sound quality is crisp and clear at a range of volumes. One issue we have though is that the bluetooth connection does not seem to have a pin and as a result our neighbour seems to keep connecting accidentally at odd times of the day and night. There is no way for us to turn off bluetooth.
