Mix to perfection and delight in the tasty results produced by the Sunbeam Cafe Series Planetary Mixmaster. The stylish Stainless Mixer excels in Sunbeam’s ‘7 Measures of Mixing’.
- The Sunbeam Cafe Series Planetary Mixmaster excels in the ‘7 Measures of Mixing’ allowing you to take your cooking to the next level with ease. The ‘Measures’ include ‘The Mixing Test’ which involves combining wet and dry ingredients to produce a smooth consistent texture; ‘The Whisking and Aerating Test’ which involves whisking two egg whites to stiff peaks; The ‘Creaming Test’ which creams sugar and butter to be light and fluffy; ‘The Kneading Test’ where wet and dry ingredients are kneaded evenly into a soft ball of dough; ‘The Cookie Dough Test’ where wet and dry ingredients are combined with limited mixer movement; ‘The Stability and Heavy Loads Test’ whereby the mixer remains stable on the bench-top when mixing heavy loads; and ‘The Ease of Use Test’ where the mixer is easy and intuitive to use.
- The Mixmaster’s spring assisted head lift makes mixing a breeze by enabling you to raise and lower the head one handed.
- For your convenience the Mixer’s head also remains in position between the open and closed locked positions. This functionality stops any banging and sudden movements.
- Add accessories to the Mixer such as pasta cutters and rollers with ease.
- For your convenience the Mixmaster allows you to store the Power Drive Cover at the rear of the head when in use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Lou3 from Disappointed. Broken 3 times so far. I bought my MX9200 in September 2012. I was initially pleased with the performance. Over time, the gears became louder and the machine eventually stopped working at higher speeds and then stopped working altogether. The machine was replaced and I received a new machine, this machine never sounded as smooth as the first one, it was always much noisier. Within just a few months it too stopped working. I have had the 3rd machine for 11 months and today it too suddenly stopped working. I'm at the point now where I'd prefer a refund to being replaced with another machine which will break quickly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Leshymya from A dream come true I have a vintage Sunbeam (Still working) who is very jealous of the new master of mixing. My new machine is all the things you need in one great machine. Mixing including scraping the sides. No need to keep stopping to do it manually. Adding ingredients without the splatter thanks to the lid. A pause button. Yay !!! No need to dodge to beetets for a taste. LOL SO MANY GREAT FEATURES.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LT13 from Similar to a commercial mixer. As a chef by trade, I am able to recreate many of the dishes I would normally prepare in a commercial kitchen with the bits and pieces of equipment I have collected over the years. The only exception when cooking at home is the few dishes or ingredients that require extensive manual labour were usually not in the rotation of the family menu. I spent many years as a dessert chef but I rarely attempted cakes, pastries and desserts at home. It usually required arduous work mixing by hand, switching bowls and numerous handheld tools. I’ve just had a daughter so my time is limited. As a result, I decide to purchase the Sunbeam Café Series Planetary Mixmaster MX9500 with the Power Drive. My purchase was made based numerous features. The timer and pause functions are great if I get called away by my crying daughter. Another advantage is the spring loaded head lift. Makes baking with one hand when the other is occupied by a child much easier. The 1200w motor gave me more confidence that it would be able to cope with the household needs. Having used the mixer for a short while I am very happy with it. The attachments are sturdy and fit well, making the mixer feel well built. I also love the scraper attachment as it has made the clean-up process a lot easier. I also have a wife who does not eat gluten. While the range of breads and products are definitely better, I love that I am now able to make GF bread and pasties at home. I was not sure any mixer would match the power of a commercial one but I have not had any issues with the power of this one for the small batch doughs I have made so far (including a GF pizza dough which was rather heavy). Overall I am very happy with the product and I’m enjoying being able to make desserts at home like I would in a commercial kitchen.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Dezz from Good, but questionable reliability with doughs. This is a great mixer for most things except with about 1000gms of medium stiffness bread dough (following the manual instructions and with dough hook), the unit got extremely hot after 3-4 minutes. It didn't shut down however and kept working until I shut it down to cool. 30 minutes later, it was ok for another 3-4 minutes. Another potential problem with kneading dough is that the top part began to pivot side to side on the hinge. This could potentially lead to excessive slop over time and quickly wear/weaken the hinge point. The only other problem was that the bowl can be extremely difficult to remove after use.....even when lightly turned to first attach. This is a very negative point that should have been solved with some simple engineering. Aside from these problems, it is a good, strong and easy to use mixer. I hope Sunbeam release more "Power Drive" accessories than just the pasta roller and cutters. Sunbeam should also look at releasing modified bowl(s) that are easier to attach and remove if they want to compete against other brands as a high end mixer. Unfortunately I can't recommend it to any of my friends, over some other mixers, until at least the bowl removal problem is fixed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Bryan from What a joke! This is the worst machine I have ever bought. Will not even mix bread/pizza dough.. electrical burning smell coming from mixer under light to moderate load. It slows to a stop then frantically speeds just kneading standard dough. Definitely not 'cafe series'.. more like kids pretend series.

Rated 4 out of 5 by CaraMia from Easy to use We bought this mixer 2 years ago. In that time we have loved it. The lcd screen goes through periods where it doesn't work, but besides this it hasnt missed a beat. This particular model is a little bouncy as with most mixers, so I recommend not using it near the edge of a bench.
