Brooke Anderson has established herself as a strong and consistent presence in the middle for the St George Illawarra Dragons. A lock forward known for her toughness and work rate, she brings stability and physicality to her side. 

Raised in the St George and Brighton-Le-Sands area of Sydney, Anderson began her rugby league journey with the Brighton Seagulls, developing through local pathways and laying the foundation for her progression into elite sport.

Anderson’s career has been defined by persistence. After stepping away from elite sport for five years due to a series of injuries, she returned to the game and worked her way back to the highest level, reflecting her determination and commitment. 

Despite being born in Sydney and previously representing Australia across multiple formats, Anderson made the decision to represent New Zealand at international level, debuting for the Kiwi Ferns in 2023 and adding another dimension to her rugby journey. 

At club level, she is recognised for the consistency she brings through the middle, earning the respect of her teammates and being voted the 2024 NRLW Players’ Player, an acknowledgement of her influence within the squad. 

Off the field, Anderson shares a long-standing connection with fellow NRLW player Tiana Penitani, having progressed through elite rugby pathways together since their school years, a relationship that has continued throughout their professional careers. 

With a career shaped by resilience, adaptability and perseverance, Anderson continues to play an important role at both club and representative level, contributing to the growth and depth of the women’s game.
