A three-time NRLW Premiership winner, Meakes is known for her relentless work rate and consistency, building one of the most accomplished careers in the game. She became the first Newcastle Knights player to reach 50 NRLW games, reflecting both her durability and impact at club level.
Beyond the game, Meakes balances elite rugby with her career as a Secondary PE teacher. Her work in education reflects the same passion for leadership and development that defines her sporting career, with a strong focus on empowering young people to build confidence, pursue their goals and reach their potential.
Driven by her own experience growing up without access to female rugby league pathways, Meakes is committed to creating opportunities for the next generation. Alongside teammate Olivia Higgins, she co-founded the Future Fierce Academy, delivering school-based programs focused on confidence, skill development and mentorship for young female athletes.
She has further extended her impact through her role as Head Coach and Junior Coaching Pathways Coordinator for the Wyong Roos, supporting the development of emerging talent across the Central Coast.
Respected for her leadership, Meakes is known for balancing competitive drive with empathy and support. She often credits her communication style and approach to leadership to her background in teaching, bringing clarity and connection to her role as captain.
