Apple announced the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and iPhone Duo at 3am AEST on 10 September 2026.
The standard iPhone 18, iPhone 18e and next-generation iPhone Air weren’t announced but are widely expected to arrive in early 2027.
iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max pre-orders open at 10pm AEST on 12 September, ahead of their 18 September release date.

Here’s what’s new:
More Camera Control – For the first time on iPhone, the 48MP Fusion Main camera can adjust its aperture to suit different lighting and depths of field. That means brighter, more detailed photos – plus more freedom to call the shots than previous Pro models.
Faster A20 Pro Performance – Compared with A19 Pro, the new 2nm A20 Pro chip delivers faster graphics and twice the AI processing power. A redesigned vapour chamber also helps keep its cool for demanding apps and gaming.
Redesigned Dynamic Island – Dynamic Island now takes up less screen space and can display up to three Live Activities at once, keeping more useful information in view without interrupting what you’re doing.
Battery Life Boost – The Pro models take a leap forward with up to 34 hours of video playback on iPhone 18 Pro and 43 hours on Pro Max. Need power in a pinch? Faster charging also gets you back to around 50% in just 15 minutes.
Fresh Pro Colours and More Storage – Black, Silver and Glacier are joined by a bold new Burgundy hue, with storage now reaching 2TB on both models for those hefty photo, video or app libraries.
