Rated 4 out of 5 by mudimo from 'Does what it says on the tin...' I finally had to replace a 10yr old pair of SONY 'reference' headphones and took the opportunity to go wire free and noise cancelling. After considering all the (more expensive) alternatives from BOSE, Sennhieser, and yes, even the top of the range SONY MDR-1000X, I settled on this pair as excellent value for money. The noise cancelling does not approach the sophistication of the 1000X, but compares well with the others, and the battery life is excellent. These are not 'audiophile' cans, and lack some definition in the mid-range, but for my everyday needs (iPod & late night computer work) they fit the bill handsomely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TruckMonkey1 from Near Perfection! Bought the MDR-ZX770BN for travel to Spain this month. Was dubious about the noise cancelling features but can only say how wrong I was to be so. Sat in the terminal buildings at Manchester Airport and Alicante Airport and the only thing I could hear was my music, the noise cancelling deature worked an absolute treat. The same can be said for their use on the flight, switch off the noise cancelling function and the aircraft noise was remarkably loud, however turn it on and I cold hear none of it. Extremely impressed, and a much better price than some of the rival products available that I had also considered. The only issue I had was warm ears, which now I am back in the UK doesnt seem like such an issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Minky from Cracking headphones Bought these because I wanted some blue tooth overear headphones. I wanted the Sony mdr 1a Bluetooth model but a lottery win didn't materialize. Still these are by far the most expensive headphones I have bought. First impressions are excellent, exactly what I wanted, great sound and build quality and you can have them on as loud as you like and no one will be annoyed by tinny music leaking from them. My daughters radar hearing noticed noise leakage a bit. This was in the living room with no ambient noise from TV traffic etc. When we put TV on she couldn't here owt from the headphones. Great buy would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jimnewhaven from hits the sweet spot I did a lot of research and this headphone has all the features you could want--and is beautifully put together. noise canceling and bluetooth; excellent balanced sound; works even if battery is dead and with a cable if you can't use bluetooth. My only negative is I think it should have come with a hard-case instead of the cloth bag. It's a nice bag, but this headphone deserves better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by EllaFrankFan from High sound quality, complex user manual I bought these recently after reading a hifi magazine review about how effective the noise cancelling system was. And yes, it is very good. These are the most expensive headphones I have ever bought, and the price is reflected in the build quality and the sound quality which is superb. They take quite a lot to get set up and used to; the user manual of 61 pages has to be downloaded and studied to get the full benefits. A once in a lifetime purchase probably for most people, but Sony products are always excellent, I've had my Sony TV and HiFi system for many years trouble free, and I expect these headphones to give the same satisfaction.

Rated 1 out of 5 by skyeb from Not built for daily use. Headphones worked, and sounded great when I first purchased them. I used them 8 hours, every workday. After 6 months the noise cancellation died, and one side became much quieter. Then the other side got quiet, so I turned up the volume. I found that If I push quickly on both ear-pieces - squeezing them towards my head - the volume, and noise cancellation come back momentarily - so I suspect some sort of separation from an internal diaphragm. I expected they would last at least 1 year. The blue-tooth still works, and the batteries still hold a good charge. The price paid was too much for a pair of average blue-tooth headphones that I now possess.

Rated 4 out of 5 by rfish52 from Impressed but.... Bought these for the wireless and noise cancelling features and also the nice price point, and they do perform as advertised! Only one complaint.....had Bose wired before and the carrying case was always a nice convenience, and I really wish this one had a case other than the little bag which affords no protection in bags that often get jostled around....just my little pet peeve...smile! Just a real nice touch for headphones in this range....

Rated 5 out of 5 by PhilHK from Very happy, these are just what I'd hoped. I received these as a Christmas present (I did ask for them :-)) and so far I have been very satisfied. I haven't had much call for the noise canclling funciton yet ubt the enclosures are pretty soundproof anyway; when I did try it it seemed fine, though it didn't; have much of a challenge. NFC and bluetooth connection is very easy and the phones work fine with the supplied cable as well. I have used them with my Samsung Galaxy (NFC), iPad (straight Bluetooth) and iPod (cable). My only very minor criticism is that I'd like some indication of battery charge level, so I know when to put them on charge, but it is very minor.
