The story takes place in the prosperous Dagdan Empire, where warriors gather to compete in the Heroic Games—a legendary tournament whose winner is granted a single wish. The narrative follows four protagonists whose destinies become intertwined as they pursue their own ambitions and uncover larger threats facing the empire.

Classic Tactical Combat Returns

The game retains the series' strategic turn-based battles while reintroducing several fan-favorite mechanics. Confirmed returning systems include Combat Arts, Gambits, Crests, weapon durability, world map exploration, and a calendar-style progression system reminiscent of Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

Threats

Dungeon Exploration Makes a Comeback

One of the biggest gameplay additions is the return of explorable dungeons, a feature not seen since Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. Players will be able to explore dungeons, recruit allies, gather resources, and encounter enemies outside traditional battle maps.

The Galactic War

Connections to Three Houses

Trailers and promotional materials suggest a connection to the world of Three Houses. Notably, an older version of Sothis appears in promotional footage, leading to significant fan speculation about how the game relates to the Fódlan setting. Nintendo has not yet fully explained the relationship between the two stories.
