Which phone has the best camera quality?

The best camera phones make you forget you ever needed a ‘real’ camera. With advanced multi-lens systems, powerful zoom and clever processing working behind every shot, the latest flagships put professional-level photography right in your pocket.

These are the big shots:

• Variable Aperture – iPhone 18 Pro models let you adjust the 48MP Main camera’s aperture, giving you more creative control over every moment.
• Long-Range Zoom – Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL combine a 48MP 5x Telephoto camera with Pro Zoom up to 120x, so no detail feels out of reach.
• Low-Light Video – Galaxy S26 Ultra combines brighter Nightography Video with Super Steady and Horizontal Lock, helping every memory look clear and steady after dark.

What’s a good cheap phone to buy?

A new phone doesn’t have to come with a huge price tag! These cheaper options deliver performance, design and features you’d expect to pay a lot more for. Even the big names are in on it!

Check out their best-value models below:

• iPhone 17e – If you ask us, the ‘e’ stands for essentials, with the same generation A19 chip as iPhone 17, plus a 48MP Fusion camera and long battery life.
• Samsung Galaxy A Series – From capable cameras to reliable performance, Samsung’s affordable range has all the bases covered.
• Google Pixel 10a – Gives you plenty of Pixel for your dollar, from the Tensor G4 chip to AI photography and over 30 hours of power.

Explore even more budget-friendly options from the likes of TCL, Opel, HMD and Xiaomi, which give you smartphone features at a fraction of the price.

Is it better to buy a phone outright?

Sick of being tied down? Locked phones restrict you to a single network or carrier on a long-term contract, while buying a phone outright from Harvey Norman gives you the flexibility to shop around for the best deal.

Take back control by pairing your new unlocked mobile phone with one of our SIM Only Optus mobile phone plans and enjoy the perks, from fast 5G coverage to unlimited talk and text and data sharing. Now that’s freedom!
